Land Surveyor - British Columbia Registered

PHASOR Engineering Inc. is a leading provider of specialized engineering and geomatics services, supporting the growth and modernization of power infrastructure across North America. As a subsidiary of Quanta Services, we deliver high-quality surveying and geomatics solutions for major utility projects in Canada and the United States.

Our Geomatics division utilizes advanced technology such as LiDAR, UAV mapping, RTK, and robotic total stations to provide precise survey solutions. We support transmission line projects, substations, renewable energy installations, and pole load analysis, with a growing presence in the U.S. market.

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Land Surveyor / Project Manager to join our team, preferably licensed in British Columbia. The position is based in Fort St. John or Burnaby, BC.

In this role, you will oversee professional survey work within your licensed jurisdictions and may contribute to our LiDAR and UAV services, depending on your interests.

Responsibilities:
  1. Manage all aspects of project execution, ensuring alignment with scope, budget, and schedule.
  2. Establish and maintain communication protocols with key decision-makers and manage change requests.
  3. Oversee project financials, set up cost controls, and conduct risk reviews.
  4. Coordinate with team members to understand project requirements and logistics.
  5. Supervise subcontractors and organize field staff schedules and mobilizations.
  6. Participate in division meetings and contribute to workload planning.
  7. Provide clear instructions, supervise project staff, and ensure quality and safety compliance.
  8. Ensure accurate project charges and complete all reporting requirements.
  9. Uphold safety policies, conduct safety reporting, and develop safety plans as needed.
Education and Experience:
  • Professional licensure in good standing.
  • Diploma or Degree in Geomatics or Civil Engineering.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience as a Project Manager.
  • Safety tickets are assets.
  • Valid Driver's License.
Skills and Abilities:
  • Strong communication and English proficiency.
  • Proficient with Excel, Outlook, and survey equipment software.
  • Strong supervisory and organizational skills.
  • Knowledge of relevant project types and cultural awareness.
