Job summary

The Lac La Ronge Indian Band’s Education Department seeks a Land Based Cook and Janitor for Chief Moses Ratt School in Sucker River. Job description

The Lac La Ronge Indian Band’s Education Department is now accepting applications for a full-time term position based at Chief Moses Ratt School (Cultural Camp) in Sucker River:

LAND BASED COOK AND JANITOR
JANITOR:

The suitable candidate will be able to perform the following duties:

  1. Provide daily cleaning and upkeep of Cultural Grounds;
  2. Prepare cleaning supply list and manage ordering;
  3. Perform other duties as assigned from time to time.

The suitable candidate will possess the following qualifications:

  1. Previous janitorial experience is preferred;
  2. Knowledge and experience with maintaining Cultural Grounds and area;
  3. Grade 12 Diploma.
COOK:

The suitable candidate will be able to perform the following duties:

  1. Maintain and sanitize cooking facilities and equipment;
  2. Monitor and maintain inventory of food and supplies;
  3. Order food and supplies for weekly meals in an efficient and cost-effective manner;
  4. Maintain proper safety standards throughout all food preparation and storage;
  5. Perform other duties as assigned by the Supervisor.

The suitable candidate will possess the following qualifications:

  1. Experience in cooking for large groups, including traditional and contemporary foods;
  2. Saskatchewan Safe Food Handling Certificate;
  3. Ability to provide a satisfactory Criminal Record Check / Vulnerable Sector Check.
