SUMMARY OF POSITION

The Machine Operator is responsible for setting up the Combi laminator, running production of the laminator, cleaning and all related maintenance of the machine.

THIS IS AN EVENING SHIFT (4.00pm - 2.00am) - FULL TIME POSITION ONLY

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Set up and operate Laminating Machines according to company procedures and guidelines.
  • Manages pre-run testing of the material to ensure the correct coding weights and bond strength are applied
  • Job Order interpretation - uses & runs the proper amount of material/footage to the job order for production
  • Perform all required quality checks prior to production
  • Apply proper adhesive and wind rolls according to specs.
  • Load and unload material from the laminators/trucks as needed, using defined equipment
  • Install/remove laminator sleeves as required for each production order.
  • Correctly build up production orders and doctor blade assemblies
  • Perform daily and periodic preventative maintenance duties specified for assigned machines/equipment.
  • Maintain daily cleanliness of machines/equipment and workplace as per GMP & SQF
  • Report Quality Issues & Food Safety Violations to Production Manager for analysis and remedy
  • Enter data into Microsoft Dynamics Floor Shop Module
  • Follow the production schedule & prepare for production at the end of each day for the following day
  • Performs other duties as assigned/needed - Turns on auxiliary and other equipment as needed
  • Willingness to be trained on alternate production machines such as slitting, pouch, and printing

EXPERIENCE & SKILLS

  • 1+ years of experience in set up, running & cleaning lamination machine
  • Mechanical & mathematical skills: Ability to read rulers, micrometer & gauges, equipment testing
  • Computer literacy - complete production related documentation on both computer & paper forms
  • Good judgment, troubleshooting & decision making skills in regards to Safety and Quality
