Job description

Surerus is looking to hire a full time Labourer / Wash Bay Attendant to start immediately in our Fort St John shop.

This position is responsible for following all Surerus processes regarding this position. The Labourer / Wash Bay Attendant is responsible for general housekeeping of the shops and yard and keeping incoming units cleaned and maintained prior to servicing or prior to being dispatched.

JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES :

  • General housekeeping in and around the shop(s)
  • Keep units clean and organized by washing exteriors and having them ready for servicing or dispatch
  • Ensuring that the wash bay is maintained and kept in a clean condition by sweeping and washing the shop as necessary to ensure continued cleanliness.
  • Clearing walkways and the front of wash bays are kept clear of debris and snow, including laying down ice melt in areas to prevent slips, trips and falls.
  • Ongoing tidying, including disposing of garbage, cleaning up fluids on floors and other duties as necessary.
  • Operate hand and power tools.
  • Perform spotting for various types of equipment.
  • Handing in paperwork as required by administration and the safety department.
  • Reporting all unsafe conditions, hazards or equipment damage immediately to the Supervisor.
  • Other job duties as required and directed by Supervisor.

QUALIFICATIONS :

  • High School Diploma, GED or equivalent preferred.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Must be reliable.
  • Physically Fit.
  • 1 - 3 years of directly related experience.
  • Knowledge and some experience with Heavy Equipment considered an asset.
  • Safety certifications such as Standard First Aid & Loader Certification considered an asset.
  • Above average work ethic.
  • Safety sensitive position that will require a pre access drug and alcohol test.

This is a full-time hourly position. Standard hours of work are Monday through Friday, 7 : 00am to 5 : 00pm. Overtime hours may be required on an as needed basis
