Job summary

Border Paving Ltd. is seeking a motivated Labourer to support outdoor construction activities across Alberta projects. You will assist with site preparation, material handling and general labour duties under the guidance of Operators and Supervisors.

The role emphasizes safety, reliability and a strong work ethic, with opportunities for advancement and ongoing training. Border Paving offers competitive wages, benefits, profit sharing and a company share ownership program.

Qualifications

• Valid Class 5 Drivers License is required.
• Class 3 and/or Q Endorsement (Airbrakes) are assets mentioned in the posting.
• Previous asphalt or construction experience is an asset.
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather and site conditions.
• Strong work ethic and commitment to safety.
• Current driver’s abstract required prior to hire.

Responsibilities

• Load, unload and move construction materials to support daily production.
• Prepare and maintain work areas to ensure efficient crew operations.
• Perform manual grading, digging and site preparation where equipment use is not practical.
• Operate small equipment such as rollers and skid steers once qualified.
• Follow Alberta Transportation Traffic Accommodation in Work Zones requirements.
• Perform daily equipment inspections and minor maintenance.
• Work with hot mix, cold mix asphalt and gravel materials.
• Assist with grading and slope control.
• Mark manholes and water valves as required.

Working alongside Operators and Supervisors, Labourers are responsible for a wide range of physically demanding tasks in an outdoor construction environment.
