Our Client

Our client is a leading NSW Government agency delivering essential transport and infrastructure services across the state. About The Role

We’re looking for hands-on workers and operators to join a regional infrastructure team based in Waratah, Thornton, Newcastle, Maitland & Hunter NSW. This role is suitable for experienced Labourers, MR / HR Drivers, Plant Operators, Carpenters, Road Workers, Linemarkers, Signposters, Rail Protection Officers (ARTC), Site Supervisors, and Project Quality Reps. The work involves bridge maintenance, infrastructure projects, and road upgrades across rural NSW, with a focus on safety, quality, and teamwork.

You’ll perform site work such as equipment operation, manual labour, site supervision, quality assurance, and traffic management. Living-away-from-home allowances are provided, and you’ll travel with a stable crew across project sites.

  • Pay rate: $40-$50 / hour + super (varies by position)
  • 8.5 hours/day, 76 hours/fortnight, 9-day fortnight
  • Travel and overtime may be required; accommodation and allowances provided
  • Contract duration: 6 months, with potential extension

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform civil labouring tasks including maintenance, carpentry, concreting, and formwork
  • Operate plant and equipment safely (rollers, excavators, trucks)
  • Drive MR / HR vehicles between depots and work zones
  • Monitor worksite quality and ensure compliance with project specifications
  • Support junior crew members and coordinate safety efforts
  • Maintain WHS compliance and participate in toolbox talks
  • Assist with traffic control and site safety near active roads
  • Record daily activities and report issues or delays

About You

  • Construction White Card (essential)
  • Current C, MR, or HR Licence
  • Plant Operator Tickets, Workers On Foot, Tradesperson certificate, TC tickets (highly desirable)
  • Experience in carpentry, construction, road work, or bridge maintenance
  • For ARTC Rail Protection Officer, contact us directly for rate details
  • Strong safety awareness and quality standards
  • Experience with government or infrastructure projects preferred
  • Willing to travel and work away from home
  • Reliable, physically fit, team-oriented
  • Full Australian work rights (Citizen, PR, or valid long-term visa)
  • Satisfactory police check (can start before clearance, subject to termination if adverse)
  • Complete compliance check and upload work rights verification at www.charterdiligence.com.au/portal. Incomplete submissions may be rejected.
