JPR Industries Inc. in Shaughnessy, AB is seeking a Labourer - metal fabrication who is self-motivated with good interpersonal skills. The role is permanent full-time with day/evening/weekend shifts and overtime.

You will operate metal cleaning equipment, assist fitters, sort materials, grind, polish, read work orders and maintain a clean, safe workspace in a noisy industrial setting. Training is provided, and a valid driver’s license is beneficial.

Qualifications

• Fluent English is required.
• No formal education prerequisites; training will be provided.
• Must have completed Working at heights training.
• Capable of lifting up to 23 kg (50 lbs).
• Reliable, flexible, and a good team player.
• Able to work in dusty/hot conditions and in a noisy environment.

Responsibilities

• Operate metal cleaning equipment to remove excess welds, rust, scale, and other materials.
• Immerse metal products in cleaning solutions.
• Assist structural steel/platework fitters or other metal workers.
• Sort metal sheets, parts, scrap metal and other materials.
• Grind or chip excess metal using hand tools.
• Clean machines and work areas.
• Transport raw materials and finished products around the plant.
• Load and unload vehicles.
• Polish metal products to a mirror finish.

• The candidate will be responsible for operating metal cleaning equipment to remove excess welds, rust, scale, and other materials from the surfaces of metal products.
• The candidate must immerse metal products in cleaning solutions.
• The candidate must assist structural steel and platework fitters, sheet metal workers, metal machine operators, or other metal workers.
• The candidate will be responsible for sorting metal sheets, parts, scrap metal, and other materials.
• The candidate will be responsible for grinding or chipping excess metal from metal products using hand tools.
• The candidate will be responsible for cleaning machines and immediate work areas.
• The candidate will be responsible for transporting raw materials, finished products, and equipment throughout the plant, either manually or with powered equipment.
• The candidate will be responsible for loading and unloading vehicles.
• The candidate will be responsible for polishing metal products to a mirror finish.
• The candidate will be responsible for reading and interpreting work orders.

Equipment and machinery experience

• The candidate must have prior experience operating dolly,hand tools,hand truck, lifting device and wheelabrator.

Security and safety

• The candidate should be subjected to a thorough criminal background check as well as a driving record check (abstract).

Transportation/travel information

• The candidate must have a valid driver’s licence.
• The candidate must have their own transportation.
