This is a Temporary Part-Time position in the Fleet Department, under the supervision of Chargehands, Supervisors, or the Manager. The Labourer will assist licensed mechanics with minor mechanical repairs and preventive maintenance on municipal equipment and vehicles. Responsibilities also include housekeeping duties in the mechanical shop and shuttle services within Public Works and external repair facilities.

Qualifications
  • Minimum Grade 10 Education or equivalent acceptable experience
  • Valid Ontario Class “D” Driver’s License with a “Z” endorsement
  • Mechanical aptitude
  • Legally entitled to work in Canada
Hours of Work

Rotating or On-Call, up to 24 hours per week.

Duration

6 months temporary employment.

Compensation

Hourly rate of $27.12.
