Position Status: Regular, full-time. This is an existing vacancy.

This position is suitable for individuals without a Grade 12 Diploma and/or a Valid G License who are interested in working with the City of Kenora. The Seasonal Labourer Helper will gain experience across multiple departments, assisting Roads, Parks, Sewer & Water, and Transfer Station crews at different times throughout the year. Responsibilities include supporting General Labourers, Drivers, and other roles by performing tasks such as garbage pickup, cleaning, painting, brick and concrete work, mowing, trimming, sweeping, gardening, flagging, and shoveling.

Qualifications:

  • Ability to perform manual labor for extended periods as required.
  • Ability to use and care for various hand and power tools used in maintenance work.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Good interpersonal skills to work well with supervisors, co-workers, the public, and partners.
  • Must be physically fit, able to lift and carry 50 lbs. frequently and up to 100 lbs. occasionally.
  • Willingness to work in varying climate conditions.
  • Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions.
  • Adherence to departmental policies, procedures, and provincial health, safety, and work regulations.
