Job Description

If you do not have a Grade 12 Diploma and/or a Valid G License, but are eager to work with the City of Kenora, this position might be suitable for you! The Seasonal Labourer Helper will gain diverse experience by assisting departments such as Roads, Parks, Sewer & Water, and Transfer Station at different times throughout the year. Responsibilities include supporting General Labourers, Drivers, and other roles through various laboring tasks like garbage pickup, cleaning, painting, brick and concrete work, mowing, trimming, sweeping, gardening, flagging, and shoveling.

Qualifications
  • Ability to perform manual labor for extended periods as required by work assignments.
  • Ability to use and care for various hand and power tools necessary for maintenance work.
  • Ability to work well in a team environment.
  • Good interpersonal skills with supervisors, co-workers, the public, and partners in service.
  • Physically fit to lift and carry 50 lbs. frequently and up to 100 lbs. occasionally.
  • Willingness to work in varying climate conditions.
  • Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions.
  • Adherence to departmental policies, procedures, and provincial health and safety regulations.
