The Labourer role is full-time and permanent, performing basic tasks involving physical labor at transmission construction sites. You may assist other crew members, help with site preparation, and support safety practices while contributing to timely project delivery.

Qualifications

• General knowledge of construction, maintenance methods and procedures.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to work in a team.
• Willingness to travel for project schedules; overtime/weekends.
• Physically fit; capable of manual labour in varying weather.
• Valid driver’s license with clean abstract; Class 1A preferred.

Responsibilities

• Digging and back-filling trenches.
• Pulling and placing underground and overhead cables.
• Carrying and moving materials as needed.
• Operating small equipment and hand tools.
• Spotting for vehicles and equipment.

• Following instruction and adhering to safe work practices.
• Development of skills on varied tasks.

Position Summary

The Labourer (full-time, permanent) will perform basic tasks involving physical labor in assembly yards at transmission construction projects. They may clean and prepare sites, clean up rubble and debris, and remove potentially hazardous waste materials. Position, join, align, and steal structural components. Labourer's may assist other craft workers.

Candidate Requirements

• General knowledge of the principals involved in the operation of construction, maintenance methods and procedures is required
• Strong communication skills with the ability to work in a team to efficiently and effectively complete jobs within deadlines
• Ability to travel to frequent overtime hours and weekend hours as required to accommodate to project schedules and needs
• Physically fit and able to perform manual labour in varying weather conditions and environments, inclusive of heavy lifting
• Valid driver’s license with a clean/acceptable driver’s abstract (Class 1A license highly preferred)
