Required Skills, Qualifications, and Abilities

• Completion of Grade 12.
• Possession and maintenance of a valid Class 3 B.C. Driver's Licence with air endorsement; a satisfactory current driver's abstract will be required.
• Experience operating sanders, plows, and refuse packers, including scheduled night shifts, shift work, and weekends.
• Preference may be given to candidates with backgrounds in grounds maintenance, construction, road maintenance, or utility systems, especially those capable of operating road machinery.
• Ability to perform physical labouring duties.
• Ability to operate related maintenance tools and equipment.
• Ability to organize and maintain basic records.
• Ability to work independently with good judgment in a safe and efficient manner.
• The position may be physically demanding; a medical certificate attesting to suitability may be required.

This is a unionized position (CUPE Local 358). Candidates will undergo a skills, qualifications, and abilities evaluation, and a criminal record check may be required.
