Job description

Position Summary

Labourers assist skilled tradespeople and perform labour activities at various construction and project sites.

Employees are expected to support and participate in a "culture of safety" and adhere to Strike’s Code of Conduct and Values, treating others with dignity, respect, and fairness.

Project Details
  • Project Name: Mount Bracey Compressor Station
  • Nearest City: Prince George, B.C (Camp Project)
  • Shift: 14 Days on/7 Days off
  • Travel pay: $400/shift
  • Camp retention: $25/day
Core Accountabilities
  • Identify and report hazards or unsafe work practices
  • Assist with installation, testing, and rigging of pipe spools and materials
  • Clean construction work areas and fuel equipment as needed
  • Work with equipment operators and civil crews to complete grade and excavation work
  • Assist heavy equipment operators to secure attachments, signal operators, and aid in other activities
  • Participate in pre-job toolbox meetings to identify hazards and measures to eliminate or minimize them
  • Return tools to proper areas after completing tasks or at shift end
  • Ensure proper use of Personal Protective Equipment during tasks
Skills, Knowledge, & Abilities
  • Must pass pre-employment drug & alcohol testing
  • Able to lift 50 pounds
  • Comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions
  • Follow verbal directions
Safety Tickets Required
  • CSTS 2020 or Common Safety Orientation (CSO)
  • Bear or Wildlife Awareness course
  • Standard First Aid CPR-C & AED (St. John Ambulance or Canadian Red Cross) or WorkSafe BC OFA 1 Training Certificate
  • WHIMIS 2015 (provided during onboarding)
  • Transportation of Dangerous Goods – TDG (provided during onboarding)
  • Additional training if working at heights, such as Fall Protection or Aerial Work Platform Training
  • Telehandler training if operating equipment
