Qualifications

  • Préférablement local à la région de Grande Prairie.
  • Certifications H2S Alive et Premiers Secours Standard nécessaires.
  • Doit réussir les tests de dépistage de drogues et d'alcool pré-emploi.

Responsibilities

  • Identifier et signaler les dangers ou pratiques de travail dangereuses.
  • Assister les opérateurs d'engins lourds.
  • Nettoyer les zones de travail.
  • Élever et démonter les formes en béton et les échafaudages.
  • Participer aux réunions de sécurité avant le travail.

Job description

Position Summary

Strike’s labourers assist skilled trade persons and perform labour activities at our construction and project sites.

Employees are expected to support and participate in a “culture of safety” and adhere to and be ambassadors of Strike’s Code of Conduct and Values, and to treat others with dignity, respect and fairness.

POSITION LOCATION

  • A successful candidate for this position must be local to the Grande Prairie area


Core Accountabilities

  • Identify and report hazards or unsafe work practices
  • Fuel equipment when needed
  • Clean construction work areas
  • Work with equipment operators and civil crew to complete grade and excavation work
  • Assist pipefitters and welders with their work
  • Assist heavy equipment operators to secure attachments to equipment, signal operators to guide them in safely moving equipment and provide assistance in other activities
  • Perform other activities at construction sites, as directed
  • Erect and dismantle concrete forms, scaffolding, ramps, catwalks shoring and barricades required at construction sites
  • Participate in pre-job toolbox meetings to identify potential hazards and measures to eliminate or minimize them
  • Correct unsafe acts and bring unsafe conditions to the attention of the immediate supervisor
  • Return tools (clean) back to the proper area after the job is complete or at the end of the shift
  • Ensure the appropriate use of Personal Protective Equipment while performing tasks


Qualifications

  • Preferably local to the Grande Prairie Area
  • Grade 12 or GED
  • H2S Alive and Standard First Aid
  • Valid driver’s license and a clean driving record
  • Must successfully complete pre-employment drug and alcohol testing


Skills, Knowledge, And Abilities

  • Previous Labour experience
  • Previous oilfield construction experience would be considered an asset
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds
  • Capable of working with small tools
  • Capable of working as part of a team
  • Fluent in speaking and reading English
  • Must be able to follow directions
  • Must be able to get to the designated job site
  • Previous experience operating bobcats, skid steer, or case loaders. Ticketed will be an asset
  • Fall protection, Bear awareness, gas monitor training, confined space, AWP trading tickets considered an asset
