Job Description:

Parsons is seeking Labourers for our Faro Mine Site. In this role, under minimal supervision, you will perform a variety of both routine and non-routine tasks in support of the professional staff within the assigned unit.

Local Candidates preferred but open to candidates who are available on a fly-in/fly-out rotational basis.

Positions begin on a Temporary Fixed-Term basis with the potential to move to a regular, full-time role in the future.

These positions work shifts of 2 weeks on and 2 weeks off with 12 hours per shift.This role includes paid travel to and from the site as well as housing accommodations, but employees are responsible for providing their own food/meals.

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Demonstrate a commitment to safety excellence with the ability to perform each duty in a safe manner. Maintain all safety standards and follow all safe work practices and safe job procedures.

  • Performs routine and occasionally heavy labor tasks related to water pumping and water treatment operations, facility maintenance and site maintenance.

  • May collect samples and maintain documentation in record logs.

  • Learns to operate trucks, pumps, vacuum equipment, oil booms, generators, and other machinery and equipment.

  • Maintains appropriate logs of activities.

  • Assists in testing, calibrating, repairing, and modifying control and instrumentation systems at onsite locations.

  • Assists in preparing required field and office reports of various activities and findings.

  • Performs other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.

What Required Skills You'll Bring:

  • High School diploma, or equivalent

  • Some related work experience preferred

  • Aptitude to learn fundamental tasks and testing techniques related to operations.

  • Class 5 drivers license and demonstrable ability to operate various sized trucks with varying loads on gravel roads and during winter conditions

  • Ability to lift 25 kg

  • Proven ability to concentrate, pay attention to detail, organize, set priorities and be a team player

  • Proven understanding of safe work practices and mitigating risk

  • Ability to work with little supervision and function in a multidiscipline environment

  • Ability to work outside in Northern Climate throughout the year
