Role Description

We are looking for an entry-level summer job opportunity as a Labourer for our Calgary location. This is ideal for students or recent graduates interested in construction, trades, or building environments. The Labourer will support the construction team on commercial renovation sites through a variety of hands-on tasks. The Labourer will work closely with the Site Supervisor and other trades to help ensure timely project completion with the highest quality standards.

To be eligible, youth must:

• be between 15 and 30 years of age at the beginning of the employment period*
• be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person to whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act for the duration of the employment
• have a valid Social Insurance Number at the start of employment and be legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with relevant provincial or territorial legislation and regulations

Who You Are:

• Motivated to learn and gain experience in the construction industry.
• Possess a passion to learn to work as a Handyman in a restaurant, retail, and/or commercial construction and site development.
• Are passionate about health and safety
• Don't mind swinging a hammer or working the drill.
• Able to follow instructions and safety rules.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prep construction sites by cleaning and removing obstacles or hazards.
• Load and unload construction materials around the site as directed.
• Assist trades and site supervisors to complete interior renovation tasks, such as framing, drywall, painting, and more.
• Assist with the erection of scaffolding, shoring, and braces.
• Waterproof surfaces and finish freshly poured concrete.
• Help maintain a clean and organized work area, removing debris and securing tools.
• Follow all health and safety procedures, wearing necessary personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times.
