Job summary

Aecon Group Inc. is seeking a Labour Relations Administrator to support transactional recruitment and onboarding for Trade Recruiters and to assist in fostering a positive labour relations environment between project teams and trade unions.

Reporting to the Manager of Labour Relations, you will manage candidate onboarding, document creation, and job postings while ensuring compliance with Aecon policies and ACA commitments across Canada.

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated experience in administration is required; a minimum of 1-2 years of experience is preferred.
  • Degree or diploma in Business Administration and/or Labour Relations or Human Resources is an asset.
  • Knowledge of the construction industry and trade unions is an asset.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build superior working relationships.
  • Excellent oral and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to manage conflict are essential.
  • Excellent organizational skills, including the ability to multitask and function independently.
  • Advanced computer skills in MS Office, including Excel, Word, and Outlook, are required.
  • Valid driver's license required for travel to meetings and conferences.

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with work sites to ensure all transactions related to the employee life cycle are sent to the appropriate departments and saved correctly (new hire paperwork, terminations, benefits, rate/classification changes).
  • Assist with the creation of onboarding documentation and templates (offer letters, agreements, etc.).
  • Support the candidate onboarding experience, including candidates completing their client online orientation and working with the Project Recruiter to get candidates to project sites.
  • Post job requisitions internally and externally, and source candidates through the appropriate media, including professional organizations, career fairs/educational institutions, and other websites/social media forums.
  • Support the creation and maintenance of job descriptions as required.li>Participate in committees and stakeholder committees.
  • Assist the Labour Relations team and perform other duties as required.
