About the Role

The firm is seeking a Junior Associate to join their growing Labour & Employment team. This position is ideal for a candidate who has recently completed articling or has up to one year of post-call experience and is looking for full-time employment. The successful candidate will work closely with an experienced partner, gaining invaluable mentorship and exposure to a wide range of challenging matters within Labour & Employment law.

Responsibilities
  • Provide legal support on various Labour & Employment matters, including workplace policies, employment contracts, terminations, and disputes.
  • Conduct legal research and draft pleadings, contracts, and other legal documents.
  • Assist senior lawyers in preparing for mediations, arbitrations, and hearings.
  • Build strong relationships with clients by providing timely and effective legal advice.
  • Meet billable targets while maintaining high-quality standards of work.
Qualifications
  • Completion of articling and eligibility to practice law in Ontario.
  • 0–1 years of post-call experience; candidates from mid-size or large firms are preferred.
  • Strong interest in Labour & Employment law and a desire to grow within this practice area.
  • Excellent communication, research, and analytical skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
Compensation and Benefits
  • Competitive salary: CAD 100,000 – CAD 115,000 per year (commensurate with experience).
  • Bonus: 25%.
  • Billable target: 1,300 – 1,400 hours annually.
