Intertek is seeking a Laboratory Technician 1 (Union) for our Montreal, QC office. You will receive, review and test samples, perform analyses using standard methods, and work with GC, GC-MS, ICP and other equipment to ensure accurate results.

The role requires attention to detail, the ability to work under pressure, and the capacity to train newer staff while maintaining quality and traceability across instrument logs and worksheets.

Formación

• High school diploma or equivalent with basic chemistry knowledge.
• Must be physically capable of performing the duties.
• Positive attitude, ability to work under pressure and with diverse people.

Responsabilidades

• Receive, review and record incoming materials for testing using a check-in process (GLIMS).
• Perform analyses using standard methods (ASTM, ISO, Nace, IP).
• Operate equipment such as GC, GC-MS, ICP, Flash point, Densimeter.
• Analyze products like Gasoline, Diesel, Jet, Aromatics (benzene, xylene).
• Monitor supplies and inform management of needs for the analytical process.
• Prepare samples, reagents, calibrate equipment and perform QC procedures.
• Verify and report results, enter data in logs and records for traceability.
• Assist in training less experienced employees.
