Qualifications

Hold a Diploma of College Studies in an appropriate technical program for the class of employment or a diploma or an attestation of studies recognized as equivalent by the competent authority, and have one (1) year of relevant experience with personal discipline, general notions of psychology, and human relations skills.


AND


Hold a document dated no more than three (3) years ago, attesting to the successful completion of:

  • Either a general first aid course of a minimum of eight (8) hours;
  • A refresher course of at least six (6) hours to update the knowledge acquired in the previous course;
Other Requirements
  • Must be bilingual
  • Strong knowledge of the QEP science program is an asset
  • Be a team player in the Science Department
  • Organize all chemical products and materials required
  • Be able to purchase all materials needed for Science classes
  • Ability to work with students with social, emotional, and behavioral difficulties
  • Ability to take initiative and create a positive, innovative learning environment
  • Knowledge of Project-Based Learning is an advantage
  • Demonstrate knowledge of Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS)
  • Willing to get involved in school life, an asset
Nature Of The Work

The primary duties involve ensuring students adhere to school discipline policies.

Daily Tasks/Dossiers
  • Supervise students during labs
  • Prepare materials for upcoming labs
  • Maintain safety and security during labs
  • Communicate effectively with teachers
  • Be organized and structured
  • Clean materials, stock shelves, and take inventory
  • Perform any other related duties as needed
