About The Role

The Laboratory Technician 1 will assist in day-to-day operation of the laboratory and contribute to the overall productivity of the lab.

Key Responsibilities

  • Standardize equipment as needed;
  • Process samples according to SOPs;
  • Ensure the quality of the analytical data meets ALS standards and strict QA / QC requirements;
  • Meet Turn Around Times (TAT) and hold times;
  • Perform routine maintenance and ensure that instrumentation is in good working order;
  • Keep registers up to date;
  • General laboratory clean-up and maintenance;
  • Use correct methods in accordance with the established procedures and schedules while ensuring analytical quality;
  • Observe established safety regulations and comply with all ALS health and safety policies and procedures;
  • Other duties as assigned.

About You

  • Organized with proven ability to work to deadlines;
  • Highly motivated;
  • Detail oriented;
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team;
  • Excellent English communication skills (written and verbal);
  • Good understanding of Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Required Qualifications
  • College Diploma or University Degree with Chemical background;
  • Lab experience an asset;
  • Ability to process data, data reviewing;
  • Intermediate experience with Microsoft Excel.

Physical Demands

  • Manual dexterity to perform intricate and / or repetitive tasks;
  • Ability to stand for up to a full shift;
  • Lift and carry up to 30 lbs;
  • You may be exposed to unpleasant odours.
