SGS Canada is seeking a Laboratory Manager for its Oil, Gas and Chemicals division. You will lead one or more lab groups across sites, ensuring safe, compliant operations and optimal performance in safety, quality and reliability.

You will mentor coordinators and technicians, oversee maintenance, support procedures, manage changes, and drive continuous improvement while coordinating with regional teams. The role requires 5+ years of management in the OGC sector and a Chemistry degree.

Competenze

• Bachelor's degree in Chemistry is required.
• Member of a professional Chemist Order (or eligible).
• Minimum 5 years of management experience in the Oil, Gas and Chemicals industry or related field.
• Knowledge in analytical chemistry and laboratory operations.
• Instrumentation experience is an asset.

Mansioni

• Ensure workplace health, safety and environment (HSE) objectives are met.
• Provide support to coordinators and lab personnel for performance and operational issues.
• Establish and maintain a preventive maintenance plan for laboratory equipment.
• Prepare and support internal SGS operating procedures.
• Communicate regularly to the team through weekly and monthly staff meetings (Safety, Quality, Operations).
• Lead performance reviews and motivate staff to achieve objectives safely across sites.
