Laboratory Facilitator, Computing Science

$56,671 annually (with wage increments to a max of $63,636 annually). Salary and wage increments are in accordance with the Collective Agreement.

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computing Science from a recognized post-secondary educational institution, with a minimum of four months of directly related experience as a laboratory/teaching assistant. (An equivalent combination of training and experience may be considered.)
  • Good working knowledge of the English Language (written and verbal).
  • Demonstrated technical knowledge of computer equipment, including Windows, Linux and Mac operating systems, together with experience and/or training in a variety of programming languages (e.g., C++, Python, Java), as well as with microcontrollers (e.g., Arduino) and VR equipment.
  • Good working knowledge of course content; operation and routine maintenance of computing equipment and peripherals; modern techniques including statistical analysis pertaining to the instruction of Computing Science courses.
  • Proven ability to communicate courteously and effectively, in writing and verbally with students, faculty, staff and administrators as well as maintain good working relationships with other employees.
  • Ability to maintain current knowledge in the field of Computing Science.
  • This regular full-time (35 hours per week) position is available starting August 18th, 2025.
  • Regular hours of work are Monday to Friday, Between the hours of 8:00am-8:30pm. Shift days and times may change depending on the Department’s need. Occasional evening and/or weekend work may be required.
  • The position is located at the New Westminster; however, successful candidate must be available for occasional work at the Coquitlam campus.
