Position Summary

Northern Health is seeking an experienced, efficient, and self-directed Laboratory Clerk to support the Laboratory department.

Reporting to the Chief Technologist or designate, the Laboratory Clerk performs data entry, receives, sorts, and verifies specimens against requisitions/physicians' orders, accession specimens, and handles clerical and receptionist duties such as answering phones and filing.

This community-run project in healthcare delivery, opened in 2016, serves a population of 3,000 and features modern facilities for public and mental health, addictions programs, and home and community care services. The hospital includes:

• 8 Acute Care beds
• 1 labour, delivery, and recovery suite
• Designated space for Diagnostic Imaging, Laboratory, and Pharmacy
• 8 Long-term Care beds
