Job Description
RESEARCH INSTITUTE OF THE MUHC
The Research Institute of the McGill University Health Centre (RI-MUHC) is a world-renowned biomedical and hospital research centre. Located in Montreal, Quebec, the Institute is the research arm of the McGill University Health Centre (MUHC) affiliated with the Faculty of Medicine at McGill University. The RI-MUHC is supported in part by the Fonds de recherche du Québec - Santé (FRQS).
Position Summary
Department / Research Program: Lebrun Lab, Cancer Research Program
Under the direction of the immediate supervisor, verifies, washes, decontaminates and sterilizes laboratory glassware, pipettes, pipette tips, and other instruments and apparatus. Maintains equipment and ensures cleanliness of work area.
General Duties
- Prepares, washes, scrubs and dries glassware,
- Decontaminates or sterilizes glassware and other apparati by autoclaving,
- Cleans certain glassware by soaking in detergent concentrate or acid solution, or by placing in an ultrasound machine
- Sorts and arranges glassware by capacity. Verifies quantities,
- Ensures the cleanliness of the washing machines, ovens, autoclaves and ultrasound machines, etc. and the work area,
- Takes inventory and monitors supplies of products necessary to performing duties,
- Uses and maintains appropriate machinery, tools, materials and instruments,
- Informs immediate supervisor of any defects irregularities, takes measures to rectify the situation.

Education: High School Education
Work Experience: Years of experience required for the position: 2 years
Required Skills
- Bilingualism preferred,
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills,
- Ability to work independently or with teams with minimum supervision.
Additional information
Status: Temporary, full time (35-hour workweek)
Pay Scale: Commensurate with education and experience. 1 : $29,374.80 - $48,102.60/year
Work Shift: Monday to Friday 8:30am to 4:30pm
Work Site: GLEN Site, 1001 boul. Decarie
