MSALABS in Langley, BC, is seeking a spectroscopy technician for night shift to perform spectroscopy procedures and general lab tasks. You will maintain logs, calibrate equipment, handle waste, and support the spectroscopy manager while adhering to SOPs and safety rules.

Ideal candidates have up to 3 years of lab experience, strong attention to detail, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

• Organized, able to work well under pressure and meet deadlines.

Responsabilités

• Carry out spectroscopy procedures in accordance with SOPs or standard methods.
• Help perform general laboratory tasks including sample handling and disposal.
• Maintain cleanliness of workstations and equipment.
• Neutralize and dispose of laboratory waste per local regulations.
• Inform manager of any unsafe conditions.
• Maintain up-to-date logs of relevant documentation.
• Verify and record calibration of equipment as needed.
• Wear PPE and act in a safe, professional manner.
• Ensure proper lab functioning: inventory, housekeeping, and issue reporting.
• Some lifting is required, up to 50lbs.
• Perform other duties as required by management.

MSALABS is an experienced global provider of geochemical laboratory services to the exploration and mining industries in Canada, the USA and around the world. We have a rapidly growing network of laboratories in key mining regions around the world to limit lead times and transit costs and we employ the latest hi-tech analysis equipment.

The candidate must be available to work 10pm to 6:30am

Duties

• Carry out spectroscopy procedures in accordance with documented Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) or recognized standard reference methods. Instrumentation may include C/S Analyzer.
• Help perform general laboratory tasks including, but not limited to: finding samples, transferring solutions, and solutions disposal.
• Maintain the cleanliness of department workstations and equipment.
• Neutralize laboratory waste and dispose of waste in accordance with the local waste disposal regulations.
• Inform the spectroscopy manager of any unsafe conditions within the department.
• Maintain up-to-date logs of relevant documentation.
• Verify and record calibration of equipment as needed.
• Act in a safe and professional manner and wear appropriate attire, and PPE as required.
• Ensure proper functioning of the laboratory by:
• Ensuring adequate inventory of laboratory consumable supplies and chemicals.
• Practicing good housekeeping.
• Communicate general laboratory issues to spectroscopy manager as appropriate.
• Some lifting is required, up to 50lbs.
• Perform other duties as required by management.
