Bureau Veritas is looking for a Laboratory Analyst – Kearl Lake – 10 Month Contract

As a Laboratory Analyst, your responsibilities are:

  • Independently operate various instruments including GC’s, Viscometers, Digital Density Meter, Dean Stark and particle sized analysis for Petroleum Plant Operation
  • Perform sample preparation
  • Follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s)
  • Deliver high quality analytical data accurately and on time
  • Efficiently handle glassware and equipment for extractions, refluxes and preparation
  • Maintain proper calibration, quality control records and routine maintenance procedures
  • Execute daily troubleshooting methods of analytical equipment
  • Ensure adherence to Bureau Veritas’s policies, certifications and accreditations
  • Actively participate in Bureau Veritas’s Health and Safety Program (meetings, near miss and incident reporting, hazard assessment)

You are an ideal Laboratory Analyst if you have [Minimum Requirements]:

  • Minimum Education: Diploma in related field (Required)
  • 1-3 years of experience in related field (Required)
  • High level of work production in fast-paced lab environment. Involves the repetition of the same process. Requires patience, tenacity and persistence.
  • Flexible working hours, overtime and shift work
  • Involves long periods of standing, regular lifting of 5 - 15 lbs
  • Some lifting and carrying (up to 40 lbs)
  • Hazardous materials are handled using established safety procedures and appropriate equipment

Schedule:

  • 14 shifts on / 14 days off; alternating rotations of dayshift and nightshift
  • 12-hour shifts
  • Fly In and Fly Out from either Edmonton or Calgary, can live in Fort Mac
  • Occasional overtime work may be required (vacation/shift rotation coverage)
