Job summary

VERBIO Diesel Canada is seeking a Lab Technician to join a team in a continuous process manufacturing environment in Welland, ON. You will monitor quality parameters, perform testing on raw materials and finished products, and ensure safe lab operations under EHS policies.

Responsibilities include data entry, creating COAs, and collaborating with VDC teams to maintain data accuracy and compliance. We offer full-time stability, benefits, and career growth within a growing biofuels company.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of laboratory experience in a manufacturing-related industry or chemical lab is an asset.
• Associate degree or higher in Chemistry or related science is preferred.
• Working knowledge of computer software such as Microsoft Office and the Internet.
• Knowledge of quality assurance terminology, methods, and tools.
• Analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Ability to work independently managing multiple tasks, setting priorities and meeting deadlines.
• Strong communication skills, positive attitude, troubleshooting skills, and desire to work in a small team.
• Experience in the biofuels industry is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Sampling and testing of incoming and finished products with accurate data.
• Perform basic wastewater testing and other testing as needed.
• Maintain and calibrate lab equipment regularly.
• Create COA for finished products and approve promptly.
• Provide timely feedback on lab results to QA and operations teams.
• Assist Lab Supervisor with training on sampling and quality management practices.
• Ensure accuracy of operator data.
• Follow safety policies and maintain clean, organized work area.
• Participate in annual internal audits of ISO 9001 and BQ 9000.
