Job summary

Delta Intelligent Building Technologies (Canada) Inc. is seeking a DVV Lab Technician to assist the DVV verification and validation team in constructing, wiring, maintaining, modifying, and repairing test infrastructure and systems.

The role is highly hands-on, requiring strong technical aptitude and problem-solving mindset, with occasional testing and monitoring of Delta products. On-site work in Surrey, with potential for remote-enabled perks and growth opportunities.

Qualifications

  • Diploma in electronics or equivalent.
  • 1 year hands-on experience preferred.
  • Detail-oriented and systematic.
  • Interest in continuous improvement and learning.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble, build and maintain test jigs.
  • Fabricate components with CNC routers and 3D printers.
  • Wire test walls and fixtures per diagrams.
  • Maintain neat workshop and lab spaces.
  • Perform routine lab/equipment checks.
  • Monitor stock and re-order supplies.
  • Conduct preventative maintenance on lab equipment.
  • Perform testing using established procedures.
  • Document and store records with photos.

Job Summary

The DVV Lab Technician’s primary responsibility is to assist the DVV verification and validation team in the construction, wiring, maintenance, modification, and repair of test infrastructure and systems.

Occasionally, the DVV Lab Technician will help with testing and monitoring of Delta products.

The DVV Lab Technician is an extremely hands‑on role. Success in this role requires a strong technical aptitude as well as a creative, problem‑solving mindset.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Creating, building and maintaining test jigs
  • Fabricating components using CNC routers and 3D printers
  • Wiring test walls and fixtures according to wiring diagrams/schematics
  • Ensuring workshop and lab work spaces are kept neat and orderly
  • Performing routine checks of lab equipment and facilities to ensure correct operation
  • Regularly checking stock levels of shop supplies and re-ordering when necessary
  • Carrying out preventative maintenance on shop and lab equipment
  • Performing testing using established procedures
  • Documentation, picture taking and storing records
  • Assisting with inspections of components and GD&T as needed
  • Helping the DVV team as needed

Job Requirements

  • Adept in the use of hand tools such as screwdrivers, pliers, wire cutters, etc.
  • Comfortable in the safe use of power tools such as saws and drills
  • Able to connect components together based on a rough wiring diagram or sketch
  • Familiar with Windows-based PCs and the Microsoft productivity suite (Outlook, Word, Excel)
  • Good interpersonal and written communication skills
Required Qualifications
  • Diploma in an electronics related program or equivalent.
  • 1 year of related hands‑on experience preferred.
  • Detail-oriented and systematic
  • An interest in continuous improvement and a desire to learn

Work Location: On Site (In-office 5 days per week)

Salary: 46,000 - 56,000 CAD
This range reflects the minimum and maximum target payable for the base salary of new hires across all Canadian locations. Actual compensation may vary outside this range and is dependent on various factors.
