Lab Technician

Our valued client is seeking a Contract Lab Technician for a 12-month contract, located 100 km north of Bonnyville, AB. This camp-based role involves a 7/7 rotation, with fly-in/fly-out transportation from Edmonton and Calgary.

Description:

Perform sampling tasks throughout the plant site, field, and off-sites to support critical and core analysis for our operations, ensuring these samples are representative of the source. The Lab Sampling Technician will carry out routine and non-routine lab sampling of waters, sweet and sour gases, and oils.

Accountabilities / Responsibilities:

1. Support lab operations, safety, and environmental systems.
2. Support stakeholders on projects, R&D, and operations optimization.
3. Troubleshoot plant process and sampling issues.
4. Lead efforts to improve processes and procedures related to the position.
5. Carry out routine and non-routine lab sampling.
6. Communicate with Operations regarding plant issues impacting sampling and safety.
7. Ensure proper safety protocols are in place and followed during duties.
8. Identify issues that impact safety, environment, and/or production.

Education / Professional Qualifications:

1. Must be legally entitled to work in Canada.
2. High school education or equivalent.
3. Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
4. Laboratory and field experience.
5. Ability to work long hours in physically demanding outdoor conditions.
