Shared Health leads the planning and coordinates the integration of patient-centered clinical and preventive health services across Manitoba. LABORATORY SCIENTIST 2


Shared Health is seeking a Laboratory Scientist 2 (1.0 EFT). The successful candidate will be located in Winnipeg and split time between the Toxicology Laboratory located at St. Boniface Hospital and the Biochemical Genetics/Mass Spectrometry Laboratory located at Health Sciences Centre.


Reporting to the Clinical Biochemistry Medical Director, the ideal candidate will be highly motivated, willing to work both independently and in team settings, have excellent interpersonal, communication, organizational skills, and have proficiency with Microsoft Excel. Experience with LC-MS/MS is required. The successful applicant will need to able to develop and troubleshoot LC-MS/MS, and GC-MS/MS methods. Candidates must have a PhD and experience with chromatographic-mass spectrometric instruments and method development.


Responsibilities of this position will include equipment/method selection, method development and validation, troubleshooting, pre-analytical processes, procedure development and review, quality oversight, process improvement, and training of laboratory staff in mass spectrometry.
