Position Overview

Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems is seeking a Lab Operations Cognizant Test Engineer to join our diverse team within the Test and Evaluation organization, located at Edwards AFB, CA. The successful candidate will be involved in lab operations including lab design, test planning, scheduling, execution, and reporting. Cyber Operations supports multiple shifts, with a preference for supporting the 3/10 weekend shift; additional compensation applies for alternate shifts.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure test stations and assets are configured and ready for testing by deploying software and configuring hardware.
  • Collaborate with Quality Assurance to maintain and validate test station software and hardware.
  • Perform Test Readiness Reviews (TRRs) and Acceptance Test Procedures (ATPs).
  • Brief management on lab progress and status.
  • Manage daily lab operations in compliance with policies and procedures.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technical, Engineering, or Math (STEM).
  • Minimum of 2 years related experience or 0 years with a Master’s or PhD in STEM.
  • Ability to read and understand schematic diagrams.
  • Basic understanding of test equipment such as multimeters, oscilloscopes, power supplies.
  • Familiarity with electronic principles and MIL STD protocols for 1553, 429, and 1394 busses.
  • Active DoD Secret Clearance or higher, with recent background investigation or enrolled in Continuous Evaluation.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain Program Access (PAR).
  • Willingness to work various shifts based on business needs, including 4x10 and 3x10 schedules.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with scheduling tools.
  • Experience with Atlassian Tool Suite.
  • Familiarity with Linux and Windows OS.
  • Previous lab environment experience.

Salary Range: $81,000 - $121,900. The actual salary will depend on factors such as experience, education, skills, and market conditions. Additional compensation may include overtime, shift differentials, and bonuses. Benefits include health insurance, life/disability insurance, savings plan, paid holidays, and PTO.
