Working with the C-BIG team in the laboratory of Jason Karamchandani, the Lab Helper B will be responsible for:

  • Databasing informatics and data entry
  • Cellular and molecular laboratory tasks (sample processing, DNA extractions, etc.)
  • Clinical chart review – ie: asked to enter select pieces of data from a chart into the database (e.g.: features from a muscle biopsy into the LORIS instrument)
  • Answering technical queries from patients related to the virtual consent platform (eg: text settings, audio)
  • Answering questions about participating in C-BIG
  • Helping patients find the phlebotomy suite
  • Working with clinical teams to identify enthusiastic patient partners

This position is covered by the AMUSE Collective agreement.

Knowledge of French and English: McGill University is an English-language university where day to day duties may require English communication both verbally and in writing. The level of English required for this position has been assessed at a level 4 (qualifier) on a scale of 0-4.
