Job summary
Brunel is seeking a Power Converter Controls Engineer to support development, testing, validation, and delivery of industrial power conversion systems. The role focuses on designing, implementing, tuning, and validating control strategies for power converters in a hands-on prototype and laboratory environment.

Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Electronics, Control Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
- Direct hands-on experience designing, implementing, and tuning power converter control strategies.
- Experience with power conversion technologies such as AFE rectifiers, inverters, VFDs, AC/DC and DC/DC converters.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, implement, and optimize control strategies for industrial power converters.
- Develop and tune control loops for AFE rectifiers, inverters, VFDs, AC/DC and DC/DC converters.
- Hands-on laboratory testing, debugging, and validation of prototype power conversion systems.
- Analyze converter performance to identify control, stability, and reliability issues.
- Translate requirements into implementations with firmware/software engineers.
- Support validation of converter control algorithms on embedded platforms.
- Develop simulation models to evaluate behaviour and performance.
