Job summary

Dynacare in Brampton, Ontario is hiring a Lab Assistant to support specimen processing, data entry and quality control. You will ensure accurate labeling, adherence to protocols and professional handling of client inquiries in a fast-paced lab environment.

The role is permanent full-time with night shifts, offering opportunities to contribute to critical downstream results and patient care within a reputable Canadian lab network.

Qualifications

• Secondary-school education required and completion of a recognized Medical Laboratory Assistant training program.
• Experience delivering professional customer service in a demanding, fast-paced setting.
• Able to self-manage, prioritize and collaborate in a high-volume environment.
• Proficiency with MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel) at an intermediate level.
• Knowledge of laboratory procedures and ability to troubleshoot and suggest solutions.

We’re looking for a Specimen Processing Laboratory Assistant's to join our team in Brampton, Ontario. As a Lab Assistant you will be responsible for processing of laboratory specimens and/or entering requisitions and/or results accurately and in a timely manner and ensure quality control checks and standards are run as required. Your contributions will make a difference and will greatly impact the downstream solutions and treatment critical to saving someone’s life.

Status - Permanent Fulltime

Shift - Monday to Friday 10:00 PM to 6:00 AM; Rotational Saturday or Sunday 5:00 PM to 1:00 AM

Number of positions available - 1

Start Date - ASAP

• Follows established protocol(s) for the handling of unsuitable samples
• Ensures all client inquiries and problems are handled in a courteous and professional manner

What YOU bring to the role:

• Completion of secondary-school level education and a recognized Medical Laboratory Assistant training program
• Experience providing exceptional, professional customer focused service in a demanding and frequently changing environment
• Demonstrated ability to self-manage, prioritize and collaborate in a team-oriented, high volume, time-sensitive environment
• Proficiency in MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel) at an intermediate level
• Knowledge of laboratory procedures and ability to apply that knowledge in troubleshooting issues and providing recommendations for solutions

Nice to have:

• Knowledge of AS400 Data Entry system/LIS

Working Conditions

• Normal office environment
• Medical laboratory environment
• Required walking with repetitive motions
• May sit or stand for prolonged period of time with extensive computer use
• Required to lift a maximum of 30 pounds as required
• Exposed to biohazardous substances, temperature differences and noise variances

Pay rate: $19.75–$23.50

The hiring pay range has been established; however, the final pay offer will be determined by taking into consideration various factors including but not limited to level of experience and education requirements.
