Lab Aide 1

Under the general supervision of the Laboratory Supervisor, the Laboratory Aide 1 is responsible for collecting, sterilizing and packaging all biohazardous laboratory wastes for disposal; monitoring the proper functioning of the autoclaves, dishwasher and other equipment; reporting problems or requesting services from Property Management as appropriate; and performing other related duties as assigned. The incumbent will maintain a safe environment in accordance with professional and provincial guidelines and ensure compliance with quality assurance programs and maintain standards put forth by Accreditation. Functions are conducted in accordance with the Mission and Values of Shared Health, current policies, procedures and applicable legislation.
