About the role

The Level 2 Tech Support Officer plays a crucial role in assisting the IT support team to deliver smooth operation of technology systems and enhancing end-user productivity. As a customer focused role, this position is based fulltime in our South Brisbane Office, with some travel to our project sites and other office locations for system set up and troubleshooting. This role will Provide level 2 technical support to end-users within our organisation. Focusing primarily on implementing directed solutions for IT issues, promptly and efficiently.

Some daily duties will include:

  • User support: provide first-line support – addressing hardware and software related problems.
  • Ensure requests are completed in a timely manner and working with the customers and IT team collaboratively and represent McNab in a professional and ethical manner.
  • Assist support team to deliver and set up end-user hardware such as mobile phones, laptops, screens and printers.
  • Maintain accurate records within the IT ticketing system for support requests, solutions and troubleshooting steps. Update and create knowledge-based articles for common issues.
  • Any other ad-hoc IT support tasks allocated by our supportive and skilled IT department.

About you

Your passion for variety and helping others along with a desire to work within a collaborative team will see you succeed in this role. You are a dedicated individual, show attention to detail and have a demonstrated ability to build relationships and rapport within the business.

As well as this you will:

  • Have a Certificate 3 in Information Technology (or alike).
  • Proven experience in a similar role involving IT troubleshooting.
  • A willingness to work from our South Brisbane office fulltime, this is a customer focused role and cannot be done remotely
  • Must have a current drivers licence and a willingness to travel to our project sites and office locations (company car is provided when needed). Locations include, Brisbane, Toowoomba, Gold Coast, Sunshine Coast and surrounding project site locations.
  • There is a manual handling requirement for this role, you must be able to lift up to 20kg (printers & IT equipment)
  • Provide a high level of customer service and have the ability to solve problems and seek solutions.
  • An effective communicator with interpersonal skills
  • Proactive, motivated and have the ability to 'think outside the box' to create efficiencies
  • Obtain the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Display a working knowledge of ICT hardware including mobile devices, Windows computers and Audio-Visual devices.
  • Having a knowledge of network protocols/equipment, and telecommunications systems and devices is also an advantage.
  • A high level of accuracy and attention to detail
