Job summary

Brookfield is seeking a Data Platform Engineer to build and operate the Infrastructure Data Foundation, underpinning AI initiatives. You will design information architecture, metadata standards and a semantic layer while partnering with engineering to create Snowflake data structures and AI-enabled search capabilities.

The ideal candidate bridges business needs and technical implementation, with strong SQL/Python experience and knowledge of modern cloud data platforms.

Job Description Purpose

Build and operate the Infrastructure Data Foundation as the trusted knowledge platform underpinning AI across the business.

Key responsibilities

Design and evolve the data foundation, Brookfield Infrastructure’s internal knowledge platform, including information architecture, metadata standards, semantic layer and taxonomy. Work directly with the engineering team to build Snowflake data structures, ingestion pipelines and AI-enabled search/retrieval capabilities. Own the quality of the knowledge platform by ensuring information is complete, current, well-catalogued and appropriately permissioned. Establish governance processes and work with business functions to drive discipline around document ownership, metadata, permissions and lifecycle management across all functions. Monitor platform usage, identify opportunities to improve adoption and retire low-value AI applications. Help businesses identify AI use cases and assist with early prototyping.

Ideal candidate

Systems thinker with a passion for organizing knowledge and making information discoverable. Strong product mindset, able to bridge business needs and technical implementation. Excellent communicator who can influence senior stakeholders and drive adoption across multiple business functions. Experience in SQL/Python, Snowflake (or similar cloud data platforms) and modern AI development tools (e.g. Cortex, Claude Code, Cursor) is an asset.

Comp Range

$125k to $150k CAD
