Kneehill Regional Grant Writer

Kneehill Regional Family and Community Support Services (FCSS) is looking for a part-time contract position to connect and support the sustainability of non-profits in the Kneehill area. The grant writer is responsible for researching funding opportunities to support a variety of organizations’ missions and program needs, writing polished proposals to assist organizations in securing grant money and assisting with final reporting. This 15 hour a week position will support the communities of Three Hills, Trochu, Carbon, Acme, Linden and Kneehill County.

Responsibilities Include:

• Research funding opportunities relevant to the Kneehill area
• Develop clear and persuasive grant proposals that effectively communicate an organization’s needs, goals and the impact of the proposed project.
• Building relationships with a wide variety of individuals, groups and communities
• Develop and maintain relationships with funders
• Cooperate, and communicate with partnering municipalities
• Maintain records, submit monthly reports and prepare and present annual reports

Qualifications and Experience:

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Strong research and writing abilities
• Experience with community engagement/development
• Self-starter who takes initiative and works well independently
• Accuracy and thoroughness
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, email and internet
• An understanding of rural non-profit organizations

Requirements:

• Post secondary education in human services or communication is an asset.
• Experience working with people
• Applicants must possess a valid Class 5 driver’s license and have access to a vehicle
• Ability to work outside of regular business hours of Monday – Friday 9:00 – 4:00
• Work in office at least 9 hours per week; this position is in person (office and community)

Reporting:

This position will report to the Kneehill Regional FCSS Director.

Details:

• $30.00 - $32.00 depending on education and experience
• Contract Part-time position – 15 hours a week (780 hours/year)
• Starting at two weeks vacation pay

This position is funded through a partnership between the municipalities of Acme, Carbon, Linden, Three Hills, Trochu and Kneehill County.
