What You’ll Do

As a Kitchen Suppression Technician, your key responsibilities will include:

  • Inspecting, testing, and maintaining pre-engineered commercial kitchen suppression systems in accordance with NFPA 17A and manufacturer guidelines.

  • Verifying proper system function, conducting discharge tests, and replacing or servicing components as required.

  • Completing inspection documentation using mobile software and submitting reports in a timely and professional manner.

  • Coordinating with kitchen staff or site contacts to minimize disruption during inspections.

  • Educating clients on system operation and maintenance requirements.

  • Identifying code compliance issues and recommending corrective actions.

  • Reading and interpreting engineered drawings, technical manuals, and schematics.

Qualifications & Skills

Preferred Experience:

  • Previous work with commercial kitchen suppression systems (e.g., Pyro-Chem, Amerex, Ansul, Kidde, or similar).

  • Experience in the fire protection or mechanical service industries.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Willingness to complete (or prior completion of) a certified Kitchen Suppression Technician course or manufacturer training.

  • Mechanical aptitude and ability to work safely in confined and commercial kitchen spaces.

  • Capable of lifting up to 75 lbs and using ladders or lifts.

  • Valid Class 5 driver’s license with a clean driver’s abstract.

  • Strong communication and customer service skills.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and inspection/reporting software.

  • Excellent time management and problem-solving abilities.
