A local restaurant is seeking an experienced individual to supervise kitchen staff and ensure that food and service meet quality standards. The ideal candidate will have experience in a fast-paced environment and possess relevant food safety certifications. This permanent, full-time role offers a competitive wage of $23.60/hour with a workload of 35-40 hours per week.
Education: Other trades certificate or diploma. Work setting: Restaurant. Tasks: Establish methods to meet work schedules. Requisition food and kitchen supplies. Supervise and co-ordinate activities of staff who prepare and portion food. Estimate ingredient and supplies required for meal preparation . Ensure that food and service meet quality control standards. Address customers' complaints or concerns. Maintain records of stock, repairs, sales and wastage. Prepare food order summaries for chef. Supervision: 3-4 people. Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses: Food Safety Certificate. Safe Food Handling certificate. Serving It Safe program certification. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Fast-paced environment. Work under pressure. Tight deadlines. Standing for extended periods. Bending, crouching, kneeling. Physically demanding. Attention to detail. Personal suitability: Efficient interpersonal skills. Team player. Initiative. Dependability. Experience: 1 year to less than 2 years.
