Job Description
We are seeking a Kitchen Cook Helper to join our team! This PART-TIME SUMMER CONTRACT position offers a great team environment, work/life balance, and the chance to prepare healthy, appealing menus for consumers. Rate: $18.55
Qualifications
About You
You are experienced, enjoy teamwork, and are committed to high-quality results, food safety, HACCP, and OHS standards.
In this role, you will assist with food preparation and cooking under the guidance of the Executive Chef, ensuring smooth service operations. You will communicate effectively with team members, keep your work area clean, and adhere to health and food safety standards set by MAPAQ and management. Properly identifying and dating food items and assisting with related tasks as requested are also part of your responsibilities.
You should have some cooking experience, preferably in a cafeteria or restaurant setting. You must be able to lift pans and stock, operate equipment like meat slicers, convection ovens, steamers, fryers, grills, and be proficient with knives. A VALID FOOD HANDLERS CERTIFICATE AND WHMIS are required.
Experience with Catering, Grab and Go, and baking is a plus.
