Job summary

The Hard Rock Ottawa Hotel & Casino is seeking a Cook to support daily kitchen operations in Ottawa, Ontario. You will prepare, cook, and present menu items while maintaining quality, safety standards, and timely service in a fast-paced, team-focused environment.

Requirements include a high school or equivalent, a minimum of 2 years cooking experience, and Safe Food Handling certification. Ontario Food Handlers Certificate preferred.

Qualifications

• High school or equivalent education required
• Minimum of 2-year cooking experience
• Safe Food Handling certificate
• Standalone restaurant experience
• Ability to communicate clearly and speak, read, write and understand English

Responsibilities

• Prepare foods, including washing, peeling, and slicing
• Clean work areas and store deliveries properly
• Maintain knowledge of all food products, sanitation standards and policies
• Operate, maintain and clean kitchen equipment (deep fryer, broiler, stove, steamer, food processor, mixer, slicer, oven, steam table, grill)
• Assist in lowering food cost and waste; label and date products
• Work as a team to meet guest expectations
• Perform duties per company standards and policies
