Otter Co-op is seeking a Part-Time Bakery Associate for the Retail Centre in Langley, BC. You will measure and mix ingredients, decorate baked goods, greet customers, and help manage inventory and sanitation. The role supports a fast-paced bakery environment and a team-driven culture.

The ideal candidate has baking or retail experience, strong communication, and a flexible schedule that includes mornings, afternoons and weekends. Competitive wages and benefits are noted in the posting.

Qualifications

• Baking experience preferred.
• Retail or customer service experience is an asset.
• Food-safe certification is an asset.
• Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 lbs as needed.

Responsibilities

• Measure and blend ingredients using mixers and other equipment to bake goods.
• Decorate and display finished products for sale.
• Maintain proper storage, labeling and rotation of food items.
• Greet customers, answer questions and provide excellent service.
• Take orders and ensure timely fulfillment and accuracy.
• Keep inventory and production records updated.
• Restock and sanitize workstations and equipment.
• Follow opening and closing procedures and contribute to team values of Integrity, Community and Excellence.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Otter Co-op is now hiring for a Part-Time Bakery Associate for our Retail Centre located in Langley, BC.

What you’ll do:

• Measuring and combining ingredients and safely using mixers, blenders, heat sources, and other equipment to make baked goods, such as cookies, bread, cakes, etc
• Decorating and displaying finished products and features
• Add a quality finish to baked items and packed products
• Maintain proper storage, labelling and rotation of food products
• Greeting customers, answering questions, making recommendations, accepting orders, and providing exceptional customer service
• Keeping records relating to inventory, and production levels
• Taking client information and ensuring that orders are fulfilled accurately and on time
• Cleaning and restocking workstations and ensuring that all equipment is sanitized and prepared for the next shift
• Follow opening and closing proceduresContribute to the team in living the corporate Values of Integrity, Community and Excellence
• Perform other duties as assigned

Who you are:

• Previous Baking experience preferred
• Previous Retail / Customer Service an asset
• Previous experience handling food along with a food safe certification is an asset
• Must have excellent communication skills, be able to work efficiently in a team setting as well as independently in a fast-paced environment
• Must have a strong work ethic
• This is a physical job requiring the ability to stand for long periods of time and lift, push, pull up to 50 pounds on occasion
• Must be committed to a SAFE working environment
• The ideal candidate will have open availability 7 days a week to work a variety of shifts, that include early mornings, afternoons and late evenings. Preference for candidates available on weekends
• This position is based at the Retail Centre, though it may require on some occasions to travel and work at other locations as business needs arise
