Job summary

Next Youth Job in Whitehorse, Yukon, is hiring a full-time kitchen helper/dishwasher to support daily food service operations at 16 Burns Rd. The role requires cleaning, dishwashing, food prep assist, stocking, and maintaining hygiene across the kitchen. Training will be provided, and you must be able to work on-site.

Qualifications

• Secondary school graduation certificate required.
• Willing to be trained; no prior experience required.

Responsibilities

• Clean and sanitize items such as dishwasher mats, carts and waste disposal units.
• Operate dishwashers to wash dishes, glassware and flatware.
• Place dishes in storage area and rotate stock as needed.
• Sanitize and wash dishes and other items by hand.
• Package take-out food and portion/ wrap foods.
• Prepare, heat and finish simple food items.
• Stock refrigerators and salad bars and maintain cleanliness.
• Handle and store cleaning products safely.
• Receive, unpack and store supplies in refrigerators, freezers and storage areas.
• Remove kitchen garbage; sweep, mop, wash and polish floors.
• Wash, peel and cut vegetables and fruit.
