Job summary

Maple Leaf Sports & Entertainment Partnership is seeking a Kitchen Assistant for the Ford Performance Centre in Toronto. This 1-year contract (to June 30, 2027) requires helping under the Head Chef and Sous Chef with food prep, dishwashing, and maintaining a clean, safe kitchen in a high-volume setting.

The role demands punctuality, strong teamwork, and flexibility to work mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays. Compensation is $20/hour with on-site work at 400 Kipling Ave, Etobicoke.

Qualifications

• Must have experience working in a high-volume kitchen.
• Previous dishwashing experience in a fast-paced environment is an asset.
• Knowledge of food safety standards.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Punctual and dependable.
• Ability to work non-standard work weeks including early mornings, evenings, weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Operate and clean the conveyor dishwashing machines and pot washer safely and efficiently.
• Scrape and thoroughly wash dishes, utensils, pots and pans, and return to designated area.
• Adhere to WHMIS and MSDS principles to safely handle cleaning supplies and other chemicals.
• Sweep and mop floors, clean counters and shelves, and manage recycling and waste.
• Assist in receiving and storage of incoming product and delivery of supplies.
• Empty and clean recycling bins; manage storage, drop off and disposal of recycling bins.
• Follow MLSE service standards and Health & Safety policies.
• Work in compliance with the Occupational Health & Safety Act.
• Perform other cleaning and kitchen duties as required.
