Job Description
Working with the Town of Newmarket’s Recreation and Culture Team, means the opportunity to make a difference and connect with your community! Working in Recreation means being apart of something special, gaining valuable work experience and learning new skills. We are looking for dedicated individuals who enjoy working with others with a passion to deliver high quality programs, events and services. One thing is for certain, you will love the experience and our participants will too!
The Successful Candidate will:
1. Deliver excellent customer service by assisting customers with payment transactions, handling money, giving change, and issuing receipts.
2. Maintain and manage cash floats, accurately collect and record daily cash balances, and prepare deposits. Responsible for ensuring all facility revenue is collected.
3. Process payments for Drop-in admissions, registrations for recreational programs, and other items at the Recreation Youth Centre and telMAX Indoor Skate Park.
4. Address general inquiries and complaints in a mature, calm, and professional manner. Resolving any concerns or referring customers to the appropriate staff when necessary.
5. Provide updates to the Recreation Programmer via email about any issues or changes that occurred during your shift.

Job Requirements
1.Excellent interpersonal, public relations, organization and problem resolution skills.
2.Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple conflicting demands in a professional manner.
3.Demonstrated skills with cash handling in an accurate manner.
4.Demonstrated knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook), and demonstrated comfort level with the internet. Proven aptitude for the learning & use of various software applications, including recreation registration software.
5.Availability to work flexible hours (e. g. evenings and weekends).
6.Due to the nature of the contacts of this position a Police Vulnerable Sector Check satisfactory to the Town is required.
7. Current Standard First Aid & CPR-C certification required.
