The West Coast Café (WCC) is owned and operated by the West Coast General HospitalFoundation (WCGHF) and is located in the hospital's lobby adjacent to the Health Square. Reporting directly to the kiosk supervisor, the kiosk attendant will be responsible for the efficient preparation and serving of quality fresh food and beverages, safe food rotation and accurate daily cash-out, while always ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction.

  • Must be dependable and reliable.

  • Ability to interact with customers and volunteers in a consistently courteous, respectful, and professional manner.
  • Organizational and operational skills with attention to detail.
  • Customer sales and food preparation experience.
  • Ability to maintain strict timelines and perform efficiently in a fast-paced work environment.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Performing general duties including opening, closing and securing the WCC kiosk within the specified hours.
  • Maintaining a clean, efficient workplace in accordance with all applicable regulations and guidelines for the safe handling of food, beverages, and equipment.
  • Daily handling, depositing and accounting of cash and receipts according to established procedures.
  • Following standard operating procedures as specified in the SOP manual.
  • Daily prep: snack packs, veggie trays, devilled eggs, salads, sandwiches and make sure that supplies are defrosted (soup, meat, muffins and scones) for the next day.

WORKING CONDITIONS

The position is a part-time casual position to include a combination of evening shifts (2:00pm 6:00pm) and weekends (9:30am - 2:00pm). The WCC is a small but busy café, requiring the attendant to be on his or her feet several hours per day. The kiosk attendant must be highly organized and willing and able to maintain a high degree of professionalism when dealing with all WCC customers and WCGH Foundation stakeholders.
