Executive Director - Permanent Full-time
The Executive Director is the operational leader of the organization, managing a leadership team that oversees the programs and services provided for survivors of violence. The Executive Director will provide organizational vision and mission guidance; management support; financial oversight of resources; strategic insight; advocacy; and non-judgmental, supportive feminist leadership.

An Executive Director should have the following competencies, skills, and experience: The Executive Director requires experience and training in non-profit operational management and administration to effectively guide the delivery of KIH’s programs and services and to deliver on the organizational mandate. The ability to actively listen and provide guidance and direction in a solutions-focused, responsive manner is essential to the position. A strong and demonstrable understanding and modeling of intersectional feminism and how to apply an anti-racist and anti-oppressive leadership lens is a critical competency. The Executive Director must be able to demonstrate values alignment with KIH core values.

What is the mental and physical effort to be an Executive Director?
The nature of this most senior management position requires less physical effort and more mental effort. The nature of the mental effort includes the ability to simultaneously engage in multiple tasks interconnected to KIH’s strategic plan, program objectives, and organizational mandate. The communication and administrative aspects of the position require the Executive Director to ensure strong communication skills, time management, active listening skills, and the ability to navigate difficult interpersonal situations and conflicts toward solution-focused resolutions for the best interest of the Kingston Interval House clients.
Positive Impact Indicators for the Executive Director:
Salary: $100,000 to $115,000 per year.
