In this role, the Kinesiologist will educate the senior population about falls prevention and lead exercise sessions in community settings.
Working within the full scope of practice as outlined by the College of Kinesiologists of Ontario, the Kinesiologist is responsible for providing client-centered, evidence-based, efficient care to individuals in their homes and community. The Kinesiologist ensures care is provided within the framework of quality & risk management and the standards and scope of practice set by VON and the relevant provincial regulatory body.
Working conditions and physical demands: This role requires a detail-oriented approach in a dynamic environment, with physical activity including lifting, carrying (using proper techniques), bending, reaching, kneeling, and other movements that emphasize good body mechanics. Individuals in the role are required to walk, sit, stand, and climb stairs throughout the day, with some tasks requiring fine hand movements.
